Urgent lock calls usually fall into a few groups: locked out of a home, workplace or vehicle, a key broken off inside a lock, or a door that will no longer lock. Start the call by saying which one it is and where you are.

If a child, a vulnerable adult or a pet is shut inside a vehicle or building, or you do not feel safe where you are, call 911 first. Once everyone is safe, the access problem is the next call.

Have the full street address ready, and say whether the property or vehicle is yours or who authorizes access. Keep identification and something that shows the address, such as a lease or a utility bill, at hand in case it is requested.

If a key has snapped in a lock, stop turning it, do not push the remaining piece further in and do not use glue. Keep the broken part of the key, because it helps identify the key type.

Shop hours are Monday to Sunday, 9am to 5pm. Availability, timing and any call-out charge have to be confirmed by phone for your situation before anything is arranged.
